چکیده

A continuous microwave equipment (CME) has been successfully developed in order to achieve an extremely rapid and mass production for ZSM-5 and NaY zeolite. A precursor mixture for synthesis of ZSM-5 was prepared by mixing aluminosilicate gel with a nanoseed solution obtained under microwave irradiation, and pumped continuously into the CME. Duration time in the CME was 5 min to accomplish the crystallization of ZSM-5 under microwave irradiation. In the case of NaY zeolite, the precursor gel without nanoseeds was also introduced into the CME and crystallization time was within 30 min. Results from X-ray diffraction patterns and scanning electron microscopy indicate that the structural properties of ZSM-5 and NaY zeolite thus obtained are similar to those of the materials obtained using batch-type microwave instrument and by conventional hydrothermal synthesis. Advantages and applications of the CME will be also discussed along with microwave effect.

Coupled Integral Equations Approach in the Solution of Luikov Equations with Microwave Effect

The objective of this study is to present a mathematical modeling and solution approach for the drying process of spheroidal solids with the application of microwave in capillary porous media based on the Luikov equations, composed of a system of linear and coupled partial differential equations arising from the energy, mass and pressure balances inside the solid matrix. Additionally, the power...

Microwave synthesis of hybrid inorganic-organic porous materials: phase-selective and rapid crystallization.

Microwave synthesis of two porous nickel glutarates was compared with conventional hydrothermal synthesis. The cubic nickel glutarate, [Ni20(C5H6O4)20(H2O)8] x 40 H2O (1), was synthesized by conventional electrical heating in several hours or days, depending on synthesis temperature. Crystallization was greatly accelerated by microwave irradiation, in which more stable, tetragonal nickel glutar...

Bending, Buckling and Vibration of a Functionally Graded Porous Beam Using Finite Elements

This study presents the effect of porosity on mechanical behaviors of a power distribution functionally graded beam. The Euler-Bernoulli beam is assumed to describe the kinematic relations and constitutive equations. Because of technical problems, particle size shapes and micro-voids are created during the fabrication which should be taken into consideration. Two porosity models are proposed. T...

Performance of Biological hydrogen Production Process from Synthesis Gas, Mass Transfer in Batch and Continuous Bioreactors

Biological hydrogen production by anaerobic bacterium, Rhodospirillum rubrum was studied in batch and continuous bioreactors using synthesis gas (CO) as substrate. The systems were operated at ambient temperature and pressure. Correlations available in the literature were used to estimate the gas-liquid mass transfer coefficients (KLa) in batch reactor. Based on experimental results for the con...

Experimental Survey on Microwave Drying of Porous Media

The cost of drying carpet which is done toward the end of the manufacturing process, is quite high. The carpet industry has been using convection drying for many years. Little attention has been given to quantifying the effect of microwave power during the drying of carpet. An experimental system was developed whereby air was introduced into the cavity of a domestic microwave oven. The resu...
